So it's been all about slippers in my world of crochet. I visited my friend Mel and her yoga husband in Culver City over the Christmas holidays. I had made a pair of slippers for my niece's husband for christmas and they became my new favorite thing to make, so I wanted to make Mel and yoga husband each a pair. Here's Bandit being forced, once again, to pose with my creations - he loves it.
I also became a real RN over the holidays too. I took my boards, got my license and am working for a local hospital on a surgical recovery unit. It's so hard. I think in a couple of months I'll not be sooo damn exhausted, but for now I am tired and in a fog most of the time. Here I am in my nurse costume with Bandit staring me down:
Okay, so it really has been about slippers as in these I made for my beautiful niece Renae in one afternoon while she was over visiting:
And finally, when I was very young, like 5 years old, I had a great aunt who knitted. She came to visit once and offered to make my brother and I a pair of slippers. She asked us what color we wanted. I remember this so vividly, because it was the first time that I felt shame about being different (as in gay), I asked for pink slippers and everyone laughed. I knew then that it was the wrong thing to want, even though I really liked that color!! So, for myself, I made these:
