Details, Details
My fingers have two little blisters on them. That can only mean one thing, I've started to crochet again. I'm not at full force but I have started to work on my friend Karen's kitchen set again. I have a couple of scarves and another kitchen set to finish before Christmas. It should be easy as I will be done with school on November 22, 2006 if all goes as planned and I stay focused on the details. The details include writing a journal for each day I spend shadowing an RN in the local Intensive Care Unit. I have to do that for 64 hours. I also have to write a report on a local community resource, I'm choosing John Lewis Coffee shop, maybe I'll get a free meal out of it (hehe, John Lewis is the name of the organization which provides meals and shelter for homeless people of Davenport, there's about 3 of them). I also have to interview an elderly person who is currently in the hospital temporarily. I've made a few calls and no one seems interested in helping me out with this task. Once I tell them I'm a "Student Nurse" they shut down like I'm calling to sell them a magazine subscription. I'm sure I'll work it out eventually though. I also have to create a resume and cover letter by next week. I've procrastinated on this. I just feel like I can whip one out in an hour and have just been putting it off. Although I did buy some elegant resume paper on which to print my information out on. I start my one-on-one "preceptorship" (I'm not sure if that's even a word) this Friday with an RN at our local hospital who works in the Surgical ICU. I'm going to learn a lot. I'm also going to be exposed for the fraud that I am since I don't feel like I've really learned anything in the past two years. I haven't even inserted a Foley catheter yet. So the details must be worked on through the end of the month when I will truly have a lot to be thankful for.

could you interview me about rehabilitating the elderly Tiger Lily? We could conveniently leave out the fact that she is a dog....
