I just took Bandit for a long walk, we saw a young buck (literally) on our walk through the park near by. There are deer all around here. The city is licensing bow hunters to thin the herd out. My first reaction was "bullshit" (in a black-eyed peas "Shut Up" song sort of way) but then I thought about the deer being hit by cars and how as the herd gets bigger it could be me who kills a deer and I don't want that. So I say to the bow hunters, hunt well and kill swiftly.
My very good friend Mel has sent me pictures of a kitchen set I made for her last year. I had not crochetted for over 6 months before I made it and I remember getting fresh blisters from the process, but it was sooo satisfying. When I first finished them I really loved the flaws in them but now when I see the pictures all I see is what I could have done better? Is that a natural reaction? I'm working on another kitchen set for my friend Karen and a scarf for two of the people I assist on my Job. One is blind so I'm making him a really soft winter scarf and the other well, isn't blind. She picked out the yarn for her scarf. It is VERY festive and I'm excited to make one for both of them. As soon as I get my camera I'll take a picture of all my current projects, but here's a sample of one of the kitchen sets I've made. I use the cotton "Sugar "n" Cream" yarn and double the threads up
for the pot holders.
